Mental Alive is a psychiatric practice built around the idea that mental health care should feel personal, not transactional.
We take time to understand your story, not just your symptoms. Whether you're navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, or something harder to name, we work with you to build a treatment plan that fits your life, your values, and what you actually want from care.
Services are available in English, Haitian Creole, and French.
A Different Kind of Psychiatric Practice
Mental Alive is led by Marguerite Joseph, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving adults across Palm Beach County and throughout Florida.
We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and specialty treatments. All in a setting designed to feel welcoming, not clinical. Patients can be seen in person at our Greenacres office or by telehealth across the state. Same-week appointments are often available.
We accept most major insurance plans and offer transparent self-pay pricing for patients without coverage.
Specialty Treatment Programs
For patients who need more than standard medication management, Mental Alive offers two specialty programs that few practices in the area provide.
Spravato® for Treatment-Resistant Depression
For adults whose depression hasn't improved after trying two or more antidepressants. Spravato is an FDA-approved nasal spray treatment administered in our private, monitored treatment room, designed for safety, comfort, and dignity.
Addiction Medicine
Confidential outpatient treatment for substance use disorders, including Suboxone (buprenorphine) for opioid use disorder and naltrexone or Vivitrol for alcohol use disorder. Same-week appointments are typically available, and no judgment is part of the process.

Initial evaluations are 60 minutes, not 15. We take time to understand your full history, your goals, and what hasn't worked before.

You'll see the same provider at every visit. No rotating clinicians, no starting over each time.

Visit frequency is based on your treatment, not a one-size-fits-all schedule. Some patients are seen weekly, others monthly. We adjust as you stabilize.

Yes. We offer both in-office visits and secure Telehealth appointments for adults in Florida. In-office care is provided at our Greenacres location, Telehealth visits can be done from the comfort of your home.

Appointments must be canceled at least 24 business hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed appointments are subject to a $100 fee.
ADHD evaluations include a full psychiatric assessment and required computerized testing.
The ADHD test is a $175 self-pay service and must be completed before treatment recommendations are made.
Yes. We provide in-office Spravato® treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression. Care includes a thorough evaluation, medication administration, and monitored observation in a safe clinical setting.
No. Medications are prescribed to last until your next visit. Refills or changes require an appointment.
No. Mental Alive does not accept Medicare or Medicaid plans.
